Course Overview

This course aims to build upon the foundation established at the A1 level and prepare students to communicate more confidently and effectively in everyday situations, both orally and in writing, while also laying the groundwork for success in language proficiency exams.


Course Curriculum

  • Review of basic grammar topics from A1 level (e.g., verb conjugation, noun gender, plural forms).
  • Introduction to past tense and more complex sentence structures, like, dass, weil, wenn, ob, etc.
  • Expansion of vocabulary related to daily routines, hobbies, travel, and personal experiences.

  • Listening to and understanding conversations on familiar topics (e.g., shopping, hobbies, travel).
  • Participating in discussions and expressing opinions on various subjects.
  • Practicing pronunciation and improving fluency through speaking exercises.

  • Reading short texts, articles, and simple stories to improve comprehension skills.
  • Writing emails, letters, and short essays on familiar topics.
  • Developing reading strategies and expanding reading comprehension abilities.

  • Role-playing real-life scenarios such as making appointments, ordering food at a restaurant, or asking for directions.
  • Engaging in conversations about daily activities, past events, and future plans.

  • Exploring cultural aspects of German-speaking countries, including traditions, customs, and social norms.
  • Discussing cultural events, holidays, and celebrations.

  • Familiarization with exam formats such as Goethe-Zertifikat A2 or telc Deutsch A2.
  • Practice tests and mock exams to prepare for the language proficiency assessment.
  • Strategies for improving exam performance and time management.

  • Group discussions, pair work, and interactive activities to enhance communication skills.
  • Using multimedia resources, podcasts, and videos for listening comprehension and vocabulary building.

  • Regular feedback sessions to track progress and address areas for improvement.
